Reveal Blog Tour: Author Interview

The Reveal Blog Tour is making its second stop here today with an author interview with Brina Courtney. Make sure to check out my review of Reveal HERE

Brina Courtney is a young adult author obsessed with chocolate, crime shows, and fantasy movies. She's spent the last few years as a beauty queen and elementary teacher. She lives in a small town in Pennsylvania with her husband and two very loud, small dogs.

Q. What three words best describe REVEAL?

Gripping, fast-paced, and heartfelt

Q. Is the idea behind REVEAL something that took a long time to cultivate or is it something that just came to you?

It was something that came to me practically overnight, however it took me weeks to do the research and to formulate the outline.

Q. Can you tell us anything about future books in the Cryptid Tales?

I can tell you we'll be going deeper into Shay and Hugh's lives and relationship. Some other cryptids may become a part of these tales and you'll learn more about Shay's father's disappearance.

Q. If REVEAL were made into a movie, what actress and actor would you love to have play Shay and Hugh?

Hmmm... I had never even thought about it. OK so I know she's not an actress, but when I see Shay in my mind she looks a lot like Norah Jones. And Hugh has always been Blaire Redford. God is he delicious!

Q. What other writing projects are you working on right now or have planned?

Right now my WIP is Cassie Claire's Cult Life, it's a cult novel centered around Cassie who discovers a murder within her beloved "family." I will be releasing three or four books in 2012 including my first stab at humor writing.

Q. If you could magically bring one character from any book, movie, or tv show to life, who would it be?

TV Show: Rory Gilmore, I desperately want to be best friends.

Q. What made up or fictional world would you love to visit?  What would you do there?

I know I'm a simple muggle, but I really wanted my Hogwarts letter when I turned eleven. It was terribly sad when I didn't receive it. I would just want to go to school, become an upstanding witch. Nothing remarkable, just live in a Voldemort free world.

Q. Who is your favorite literary villain…who do you just love to hate or hate to love?

I had a 101 Dalmatians book as a child, I HATE Cruella Devil. She is a terrible human being.

Q. What’s the one book you wish you could say you wrote?

None, I've always felt that those are someone else's words, that's what's amazing about being a reader and writer. I love to see another author's words in print just as much as my own.

Q. What’s the one book you think everybody should read at least once in their life? Why?

Angus, Thongs, and Full Front Snogging, because everyone needs a good laugh and I almost peed my pants reading that whole series!

I want to thank Brina for giving us all the chance to get to know her and her work a little better.
