TEASER TUESDAYS {6}, TOP TEN TUESDAY {5}

Teaser Tuesdays... is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

"Over the last couple of years, Xander, Rini and I had talked and joked and dreamed about vampires so much. Hell, we'd even taken a few jaunts around the country looking for them. But absolutely nothing could have prepared me for the fact that vampires truly existed and had taken up residence in my hometown."
Fangs for Nothing by Adrianne Ambrose

This was such a fun, cheeky read. Definitely not your average, cliche YA vampire book. My 4/5 Cupcakes review will be up later this week along with an interview with the author and  a giveaway where 3 winners will each win an ecopy of this book!

Top Ten Tuesday... is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Each week a new top ten list will be posted and answered, and other bloggers are invited to post their list answers.

TOP TEN BOOK ENDINGS THAT LEFT ME WITH MY MOUTH HANGING OPEN
I walked away from each of the following books with a general WTF look upon my face and with my mind whirling. Some endings made me angry, some made me cry, some left me speechless, but all took me by surprise.

Wow! Some great choices for your top 10. I picked The Half Blood Prince, too. I also think that The Last Battle is an awesome choice. I can't believe that I didn't think of that. And while it's been a very long time since I read The Lovely Bones I do recall it being quite memorable.

Lol, I really like that teaser! For some reason I think it's hard to prepare for that fact. Great choice!

My teaser is from the wonderful and mysterious novel The Night Circus.

It's funny - it's been so long since I first read Half Blood Prince that I forget the ending was such a shock. But I remember being totally surprised and dismayed.

Right there with you on Burned. She's actually writing a sequel to it if you can believe it. It probably won't be out for awhile with all the other books scheduled ahead of it. I'd like to receive some sort of closure, since it ends the way it does.

The Lovely Bones also made me drop by jaw... I haven't read The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, but the movie is devastating.
