Cupcake Update! what's happening round here for the rest of the year!

HI, CUPCAKES!!!!

So, you splendiferous people may have noticed I haven't been posting as much lately :(

 I'm sorry for sucking these last few months! My job and family have kept me wonderfully busy, but I want you to know that I haven't forgotten this blog *smooshes blog in hugs*

Things will be slowing down more here at Word Spelunking for the rest of 2014, but I'm NOT going anywhere! I still have a few fun blog tours, awesome interviews, cool giveaways, and reviews planned throughout November and December, but if I go MIA for a few days or weeks at a time, don't worry.  And come the first of 2015, I plan on getting back to regular posting and planning the 4th Annual March MG Madness!

So, just bear *heehee, see what I did there?* with me and I hope you loverly readers still enjoy Word Spelunking!

Cupcake Update: Word Spelunking is going on a semi-hiatus in Feb.

hello, my loverly, wonderful, cupcakes!

I just wanted to give y'all a heads up and let you know that I will be taking a semi-hiatus during the month of Feb. What does this mean? Excellent questions, you smartical people! It means that I have a few blog tours/reviews/promo posts scheduled and planned for this month, but, for the most part, Word Spelunking will be pretty empty. Sad, I know *sobs*

BUT, I have two very good reasons for this:

1) I'm preparing for next month's March MG Madness event of epic middle-grade fun and awesomeness! I have a TON (seriously like 20+) MG books to read and author interviews to prepare and giveaways to set up...which is a lot of (fabby fab) work.

AND

2) I'm setting up a new bloggy blog with my sis, called Life Spelunking, where we will be talking/featuring/reviewing everything but books (Word Spelunking will remain my main and only book blog). More info on this laters.

So, yeah, the blog won't be as bumping this month, but come March, BOOM! An explosion of bloggy goodness. And of course if ya need me, I'm always available by email or on Twitter (links in sidebar).

And remember, I love y'all like love my cupcakes (which is a lot...like a lot alot!)

Cupcake Update (blog updates/changes)

Hello, cupcakes! You all look loverly today and I hope your weeks have been good to you so far! I just wanted to take a second to make a few announcements about what's going to be happening here at Word Spelunking, now through the end of 2013.

First, I want to say a HUGE thank you to all my Tweethearts who have tweeted me with such sweet, comforting words after my grandma's passing a few days ago. Y'all are the BEST and I heart you all!

Second, things will be s l o w i n g down a bit at Word Spelunking. I'm not taking an official blogging break, but, between now and the end of the year, I will be blogging considerably less. I'll still be here, reviewing books, hosting interviews/guest posts/giveaways/blog tours, but I won't be doing as many of these. So don't be alarmed if the blog is empty for a week at a time or so. And once 2014 arrives (which better be nicer than 2013), I'm sure I'll be back to my blogging self.

So, what does this mean? 

Authors/pubs: If I have already scheduled/committed/talked about doing a post (review, blog tour, interview, spotlight, giveaway, etc) for you between now and the end of December, then I'm still 100% committed to doing it! Those posts and tours will go up as planned and will not be effected. Authors/pubs looking to make a request for some time before the end of the year should refer to my Updated Review/Request Policy for full info. And if you have a request for anytime next year (blog tours, interviews, reviews, etc), please go ahead and send them my way! And Middle-Grade authors, the third annual March MG Madness will be happening March 2014 and I'll be posting more info/sign-ups in January!

Readers/dear followers/fellow bloggers/awesome people: I may not be blogging as much, but I will still be around on the interwebs and you can always find me on Twitter or by email- wordspelunker@gmail.com - if you wanna chat, have a question, or need anything at all.

Cupcake Update (Blog News): Summer Sloooowdown

Hey, my loverly Cupcakes! You may have noticed that posts have been fewer and farther between lately here at Word Spelunking...well, that's because I'm taking a summer sloooodown. What does that mean exactly? Well, it just means I'll be blogging less this summer.

I'm not going on a blogging break or anything, I just won't be posting as often, and there may be weeks where I don't post at all. Real Life (work, my internships, my new little reading buddy niece) is keeping me busy, so blogging has to take a backseat to Real Life. 

I'll still be posting reviews of course, but I've promised myself that I'll do more "just for me" reading this summer and reading less review books. I have quite a few awesome blog tours, interviews, guest posts, and giveaways scheduled this summer, so keep an eye out for those.

Authors: I'm currently scheduling blog tours, interviews/guest posts/spotlights/giveaways through the month of August. So if you have a request check out my Policy Page, then shoot me an email.

I may not be blogging as much, but that doesn't mean I won't be around. If ya need me you can send me an email or find me on Twitter as @WordSpelunker...I spend WAY too much time on the Twittah, lol!

HI, CUPCAKES!!!

Guess what! Apparently it's April...I know, when did THAT happen?! This year feels like it's just flying by....the March MG Madness ended yesterday and It. Was. Awesome! I had so much fun organizing and running this event. I'll be choosing winners for all those giveaways soon, so look out for those emails!

Well, it seems like I'm the LAST BLOGGER IN THE WORLD to jump on the Bloglovin bandwagon (I'm always late to the party...but I always show up looking Fab. U. Lous!). But, like most of y'all have discovered, Bloglovin is pretty cool and if you wanna follow Word Spelunking through it, you can via this shiny, loverly button (which will go in my sidebar as well)

As I get back to my regular bloggy schedule, you may notice that I won't be posting as much as I used to. The reason for this is simply my life is quite busy right now. I'm not stopping or going on another blog break or anything, I'm just cutting back a bit. I probably won't be posting everyday, but I'm going to try to post 2 reviews a week, participate in awesome blog tours, and continue to feature some great authors and books.

I'm also excited to start reviewing picture books! I love picture books and since I'm going to be an auntie very soon *squee*, these kinds of books are going to be a part of my life all the time, so I decided to start reviewing them. So, look out for those reviews to start this month and if you're an author pub who'd like me to review/feature a picture book just email me!

I think that's all the cupcakey news and goodness for now. I hope everyone had a great first day of April and wasn't the victim of any mean April Fool's jokes.

Word Spelunking Has A NEW Look! Whaddya Think?!

Happy Tuesday Cupcakes!!!

So, since I'm taking a short break from blogging (I'll officially be back 5/20!) I've had a bit of time to spruce up the blog. Nothing major or fancy, just a few pretties and sparkles: a new background, new banner, new button (make sure and grab it), and new social icons.

I really like the way it looks, but I'd love to know what y'all think!

Any suggestions and/or thoughts are appreciated.
