Teen Frankenstein
(High School Horror #1)

High school meets classic horror in this groundbreaking new series.

It was a dark and stormy night when Tor Frankenstein accidentally hit someone with her car. And killed him. But all is not lost--Tor, being the scientific genius she is, brings him back to life...

Thus begins a twisty, turn-y take on a familiar tale, set in the town of Hollow Pines, Texas, where high school is truly horrifying.

Praise for Teen Frankenstein: High School Horror

"There's a lot of humor—especially in Adam's not-too-successful attempts at imitating teen behavior. Tor is a prickly, unintentionally abrasive character whom some readers will find downright refreshing." —Kirkus
"Shelley’s classic gets a modern makeover in this first book in the High School Horror series.... a healthy dose of atmospheric horror." — Publishers Weekly
"In this trilogy opener, Baker takes the essence of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein; throws in heaps of high school drama; mystery, and murder; and then sets it in the small town of Hollow Pines, TX." — School Library Journal
"First in the proposed High School Horror trilogy, this offers some scares as well as a strangely compelling protagonist. Recommend to fans of Shelley’s original and teens ready for more intrigue than R. L. Stine’s Fear Street series has to offer." —Booklist

Chandler Baker grew up in Florida, went to college in Pennsylvania, and studied law in Texas, where she now lives with her family and an ever-growing pile of books. Although she loves spinning tales with a touch of horror, she is a much bigger scaredy-cat than her stories would lead you to believe. In addition to the High School Horror series, Chandler is the author of the young adult novel, Alive. chandlerbaker.com

This High School Horror story was written by a member of the MCPG, whose identity shall remain anonymous...to protect the shamed ;)

One time at band camp (yes that's how my story begins) I had a huge crush on this guy in the drum line. I was on the color guard. At one point during the halftime show, I had to walk through the drum line and right past my crush, it was my favorite part of the show (I also learned a very complicated technique that I had to accomplish while squeezing through two bass drummers). One day we practiced it over and over to make sure we got everything right, so that meant a lot of walking right past him.
At one point I was so distracted by him that I missed the count off, which caused me to trip on my flag, fall down in front of the drum line, coming thisclose to getting trampled by the rest of our 400 person band.
To make matters worse, at this point my coach said over the loud speaker, "Hey [name}! Maybe if you were paying attention instead of staring at the drummers that wouldn't have happened."
Good news: I still ended up dating the drummer.

After much thought and only recently being introduced to blog awards and blogger tagging, I'm going to have to declare this an award/tag free blog. I'm honored, humbled, and so very grateful for simply being considered for an award, but I simply do not have the time to return the favor. If I could, I'd award y'all with dozens of yummy cupcakes ;) Thanks for understanding.
