I'm so stoked to be a part of the Walking In A Winter Wonderland Blogger Campaign from Penguin! I chose Snowflake #2, which represents The Golden Girls: 'Twas The Night Before Christmas, and I chose to celebrate this book with a review and a yummy fun project...
First, to get you in that Golden Girls spirit, why don't you listen to the show's classic theme song and watch the opening credits:

Celebrate this holiday season with the Golden Girls!
'Twas the night before Christmas and out on the lanai...
This holiday season, celebrate with Blanche, Dorothy, Rose, and Sophia. This illustrated gift book is a perfect stocking stuffer for fans of the show that won eleven Emmy Awards, three Golden Globes, and a place in pop culture fame as one of the best shows of all time.
Twas the night before Christmas
And on Richmond Street,
Three girls decked the halls,
And they made each room neat.
Their children and siblings were soon to be there.
Ma finished her famous lasagna with care...
So begins the delightful and charming The Golden Girls: ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas! I am a HUGE fan of this show- it’s one of my go-to binge-watching shows –so I was super excited when this book showed up. Authors Sedita and Yacka take this classic tale and dazzle it up with shoulder pad sized flair and fun as they spin an unforgettable Christmas tale about four unforgettable golden girls: Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and Sophia (Ma).
Through clever and laugh-out-loud rhymes, the authors capture the sass, heart, and humor that makes The Golden Girls such a beloved show. Readers join these four feisty girls on Christmas Eve as a hurricane (and bothersome Stan!) blow into Miami and threaten their holiday plans. Though a short tale, The Golden Girls: ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas manages to sprinkle so many wonderful and classic elements of the show and each character’s personality into the story, from Ma’s lasagna and quirky tales of Sicily to Rose’s sweetness and fondness for St. Olaf, Blanche’s over the top outfits and nighttime activities, Dorothy’s snark and epic side-eye, and of course cheesecake! Fine’s boldly colored illustrations, so full of sassy personality and familiar settings from the show, perfectly bring the story and the girls to life.
The Golden Girls: ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas is a delicious holiday treat! Any fan of The Golden Girls will absolutely love this little book and it’s also a great way to introduce young readers to this spectacular show and characters.
MY RATING
5/5 Cupcakes
Francesco Sedita and Douglas Yacko are writers living in New York City. They are married and watch The Golden Girls every night.
Since this awesome book is all about Christmas, I thought what better way to celebrate it than with Christmas cookies! So I give you The Golden Girls: ' Twas The Night Before Christmas holiday cookies...
Picture it: Miami, Christmas Eve, the year 1985
The four girls settle in around the Christmas tree, with a giant cheesecake, for a night of fond reminiscing and laughter.
A close up of the festive scene.
Ma (with her ever present purse) and the always dazzling Blanche.
Dorothy (giving some side-eye) and Rose (who I'm sure is thinking about memories in St. Olaf).
As you can tell, I am no professional baker or decorator (hahaha), but these were a lot of fun to make and even more fun to eat, and I hope they bring some Christmas and holiday joy to y'all.
Be sure to check all the other stops during this fun campaign

Hey there cupcake! You look lovely today and I can tell you're thinking very smarticle thinky thoughts....so go ahead and post 'em!
After much thought and only recently being introduced to blog awards and blogger tagging, I'm going to have to declare this an award/tag free blog. I'm honored, humbled, and so very grateful for simply being considered for an award, but I simply do not have the time to return the favor. If I could, I'd award y'all with dozens of yummy cupcakes ;) Thanks for understanding.
