Middle School Princess Blog Tour {giveaway}

I'm thrilled to have the Middle School Princess Blog Tour stopping by today to celebrate Meg Cabot's new middle-grade book, From The Notebooks of a Middle School Princess! At each blog tour stop, the host blogger will be answering the question: "If I Were A Princess?"...

From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess (#1)

Return to Genovia and the world of the beloved Princess Diaries series.

Olivia Grace Clarisse Mignonette Harrison is a completely average twelve-year-old (except for her name, her ability to draw animals, and the fact that she is a half orphan who has never met her father and has been forced to live with her aunt and step-uncle). Until the completely average day when everything goes wrong, that is. The most popular girl in school, Annabelle Jenkins, threatens to beat her up, the principal gives her a demerit, and she's knocked to the ground at the bus stop...
Then a limo containing Princess Mia Thermopolis of Genovia (!!!) arrives, and Olivia's off to New York to finally meet her father, who promptly invites her to come live with him, Mia, Grandmère, and her two fabulous poodles. . . .Maybe Olivia isn't so average after all!

To wake up one day and discover that you are a princess, would be an amazing and overwhelming thing I'm sure. If I were a princess, there would be SO many things I would want to do, see, experience, change, etc, but, I think most of all, I'd totally focus on the FUN of being a princess. Here are the top five things I would do/want to happen if I were a princess...

1. Dress the part...In From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess, new princess, Olivia, gets a royal makeover, which includes a fabulous new wardrobe. Now, dressing up in fancy clothes all the time wouldn't be cool, but having a spectacular royal wardrobe to play dress up with would be pretty awesome!

2. Build the library of my dreams...a royal library in a majestic castle! How incredible does that sound?! Being a princess is a lot of hard work, so every princess needs her quiet haven to seek peace and my royal library would be mine...of course, I wouldn't keep this amazing place all to myself ;)

3. Eat ALL the food...Princess Olivia discovers a whole new world of foods after she meets her royal family and honestly, that. sounds. awesome! As a princess, I would be eager to learn about and discover new cultures, places, and people, and these things include new foods. And of course being a princess comes with some serious perks: want a pizza from Italy? a burger only made in Cali? authentic Chinese food? A princess could totally make that happen!

4. Have a Disney movie made about my life...okay, so this would be a complete princess indulgence, but Olivia's new big sister Princess Mia had movies made about her, so why not?! We all know Disney makes fantastic princess movies and I'd trust them with mine...as long as they got Anna Kendrick to play me and Jensen Ackles to be my prince charming *_*

5. Help people!...yes, being a princess could lead to lots of fun things, but like Princess Olivia learns, being a kind; compassionate; generous princess is the most important thing. I would use my new found princess status to help change the world and make it a better, more loving place!

Meg Cabot was born on February 1, 1967, during the Chinese astrological year of the Fire Horse, a notoriously unlucky sign. Fortunately she grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, where few people were aware of the stigma of being a fire horse -- at least until Meg became a teenager, when she flunked freshman Algebra twice, then decided to cut her own bangs. After six years as an undergrad at Indiana University, Meg moved to New York City (in the middle of a sanitation worker strike) to pursue a career as an illustrator, at which she failed miserably, forcing her to turn to her favorite hobby--writing novels--for emotional succor. She worked various jobs to pay the rent, including a decade-long stint as the assistant manager of a 700 bed freshmen dormitory at NYU, a position she still occasionally misses.
She is now the author of nearly fifty books for both adults and teens, selling fifteen million copies worldwide, many of which have been #1 New York Times bestsellers, most notably The Princess Diaries series, which is currently being published in over 38 countries, and was made into two hit movies by Disney. In addition, Meg wrote the Mediator and 1-800-Where-R-You? series (on which the television series, Missing, was based), two All-American Girl books, Teen Idol, Avalon High, How to Be Popular, Pants on Fire, Jinx, a series of novels written entirely in email format (Boy Next Door, Boy Meets Girl, and Every Boy's Got One), a mystery series (Size 12 Is Not Fat/ Size 14 Is Not Fat Either/Big Boned), and a chick-lit series called Queen of Babble.

Meg currently divides her time between Key West, Indiana, and New York City with a primary cat (one-eyed Henrietta), various back-up cats, and her husband, who doesn't know he married a fire horse. Please don't tell him.

After much thought and only recently being introduced to blog awards and blogger tagging, I'm going to have to declare this an award/tag free blog. I'm honored, humbled, and so very grateful for simply being considered for an award, but I simply do not have the time to return the favor. If I could, I'd award y'all with dozens of yummy cupcakes ;) Thanks for understanding.
