Musing Mondays {9}

MUSING MONDAYS is a weekly event hosted by Should Be Reading where MizB will ask a book/reading-related question, and you answer with your own thoughts on the topic.

Are you currently collecting any authors? Why?
Do you have all of their books? If not, why not? Did you buy all the books in the collection at the same time, or did you buy a book here, a book there? Have you actually read all of the collection? If not, why not?

I usually don't collect authors as much as I collect series. There are many series that I love, but I may not love all of that author's work. However, I do collect Lauren Myracle books. She is my absolute fave YA/MG author. I have almost all of her books and will eventually collect them all. And yes, I've read all of her books except for two (Ten and Violet in Bloom ), but I will read them as soon as I get my hands on them. For the most part, I buy her books as they come out. And I have all of J.K. Rowling's published books (HP series, Beetle the Bard, Fantastic Beasts, and Quidditch Through the Ages) and of course I've read them multiple time ;)

  1. I agree with the I may love one of the author's work, but doesn't mean I'll love them all part. I like HP too, but haven't read her other side books. I'm just...well, not THAT crazy about it. Haha. Great post!

  2. Haha I used to really love HP! I used to wish I would get the letter and I would start make-believing with my brother! Haha I actually wanted to buy some collectibles like the Marauder's Map, but it was too expensive! I find that I normally enjoy most of an author's work. But that's mainly for historical romances! For authors writing for Harlequin, I don't like all of a single person's work!

    Anw, nice post! Check out my MM here: http://alwaysabooklover.blogspot.com/2011/11/musing-mondays-1.html :)

  6. Agreed. I collect more by series than I do by author.

  7. I loved the Harry Potter series, but I probably wouldn't buy anything else by J.K. Rowling -- at least not yet. Of course, I'm not going to like everything released by a certain author, but I still like having complete collections. :)

  8. I adore the young hero Flavia De Luce, created by Alan Bradley. She is only 10 but loves to experiment with chemistry and solve mysteries, murder mysteries. I have just started book #4, I am Half Sick of Shadows.

Hey there cupcake! You look lovely today and I can tell you're thinking very smarticle thinky thoughts....so go ahead and post 'em!

After much thought and only recently being introduced to blog awards and blogger tagging, I'm going to have to declare this an award/tag free blog. I'm honored, humbled, and so very grateful for simply being considered for an award, but I simply do not have the time to return the favor. If I could, I'd award y'all with dozens of yummy cupcakes ;) Thanks for understanding.
