This in-depth yet accessible dinosaur drawing guide combines humor, creativity, and the latest dino research to show artists young and old how to breathe life into drawings of their prehistoric favorites.
Prehistoric Pencil Power!
Even though they lived some 65 million years ago, dinosaurs and other prehistoric reptiles continue to rule today. From movies to comics and cartoons, these ancient, giant beasts are everywhere you turn. Of course, who wants to just read about or watch these dinos when you can learn how to use pencils, pens, markers, and more to draw your very own?

Cartoonist James Silvani combines easy-to-follow art exercises with the latest, greatest dino-facts to help you create fun and cool dinosaur doodles all by yourself. With lessons on old favorites like T-rex and stegosaurus, as well as lesser-known (but still awesome) creatures like the massive argentinosaurus, Draw-a-Saurus has everything the dinosaur fan could ever ask for (outside of their very own pet dino!)

I’m not very talented in the art department, but something drew me to James Silvani’s Draw-A-Saurus: Everything You Need To Know To Draw Your Favorite Dinosaurs. This how-to book mixes art technique, imagination, scientific facts, and silly humor to create a truly special, outrageously entertaining read!

Silvani provides young readers with simple, accessible step by step instructions on how to draw a wide array of dinosaurs. Even those with minimal drawing experience (ahem, me!) will find the instructions easy to follow and immensely helpful. Silvani pairs his techniques with bright, rich, captivating illustrations that will amuse readers of all ages. And Silvani incorporates his laugh-out-loud, silly humor throughout the book, adding quite a bit of charm. I love how Silvani encourages young readers to take his techniques and infuse them with their own creativity and imagination, to create something that is wholly theirs!

But Silvani doesn’t just stop at technique, creativity, and humor...he also sprinkles in quite a bit of fascinating scientific dino-facts!

My Final Thoughts: Whether your young reader is a dino lover, art lover, or both, Draw-A-Saurus: Everything You Need To Know To Draw Your Favorite Dinosaurs is sure to delight, teach, and entertain for a long time!

After much thought and only recently being introduced to blog awards and blogger tagging, I'm going to have to declare this an award/tag free blog. I'm honored, humbled, and so very grateful for simply being considered for an award, but I simply do not have the time to return the favor. If I could, I'd award y'all with dozens of yummy cupcakes ;) Thanks for understanding.
