BOOK BLOGGER HOP {3} and FEATURE AND FOLLOW FRIDAY {3}

Book Blogger Hop...is an awesome weekly meme hosted by Crazy for Books that gives book bloggers the chance to discover, support, and connect with fellow book bloggers and book lovers.

Many of us primarily read one genre of books, with others sprinkled in. If authors stopped writing that genre, what genre would you start reading? Or would you give up reading completely if you couldn’t read that genre anymore?
I would NEVER give up reading completely! The mere thought is both terrifying and laughable. I read mostly Fantasy and Paranormal YA/MG books. If authors stopped writing in these genres, I'd probably read more contemporary YA fiction and more of the sci-fi genre. I read quite a bit of contemporary YA fiction now, but I could always read more. And I haven't delved too deep into the sci-fi genre, but it does fascinate me. Anyone have any sci-fi recs?

Feature and Follow Friday... is a blog hop, hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read, that allows book bloggers to discover and connect with other book bloggers.

This week's featured blogs are:

Have you ever wanted a villain to win at the end of a story? If so, which one?

Oh, this is a great question! I've always been fascinated by villains. Blame it on ole' Billy Shakespeare, with his brilliantly crafted villains, such as Richard III or Iago. And of course, the villains of my childhood (Voldemort, the White Witch, Captain Hook) were perfectly loathsome and villainous. But, I'm not sure if I ever wanted a villain to win. I think, if anything, I've wanted certain villains to be redeemed or saved...but I don't think I've ever wanted their evil plans and schemes to prevail in the end. I like a truly evil villain, but I really love a villain that pulls on my sympathies as well.

Although, if I wanted to be totally honest there's a small *coughbigcough* part of me that really just wanted the Volturi to take out Bella and the Cullens, including that creepy baby, in Breaking Dawn...but then again, I would want the wolfpack to then take out the Volturi and other vamps...but after Bella, the Sparkle Crew, and Creepy Baby were offed...Twilight fans, please don't throw things at me now *ducks just in case*

  1. Haha, seems like a lot of people can't choose a villain! I guess that means the authors are writing them really well!

  2. Great answer! I love truly evil villains, who i'm allowed to hate without feeling bad, but those villains who redeem themselves are definitely better in some ways!
Have an awesome weekend, and stop by if you can, i love meeting new people!

  3. Goodness, I don't think that any of the BBH participants could ever just STOP reading! :-) I thought contemporary would be my second choice if they got rid of paranormal too.

    Happy Friday! New follower.

  4. I read mostly those genres too and I would probably read more contemporary if fantasy and paranormal were no longer written! Great answer :) New follower. Check out my answer:

  10. Haha, I see what you mean. Myeah, I had mixed feelings about the Volturi, I mean, they were sort of awesome...especially the little twins.
I was sort of rooting for both sides, lol.

Following you back, I'm glad we've connected! xD~

  11. Like you, I would adapt. There are so many different things to read even if new books in a favorite genre stopped being published. Please come see what I would read.

  15. Sometimes I am really glad I never read Twilight. I watched the first movie a few weeks ago though and when I found out vampires sparkle, I was like "okay....click".

Thanks for hopping by my blog and happy to be a new follower!

  19. Thanks for stopping by over at Drying Ink - though I have wanted not villains, but antagonists to win. Ie. in more 'neutral' series like A Song of Ice and Fire! I mean, who doesn't love Tyrion? I'm following back too. :)

  20. Having the villians be converted to non-villians would be interesting, though in most books, they seem to just...die.
This was a hard question for me!
Thanks for the follow, and I'm now following back :)

  21. New Follower here, visiting from Crazy for Books... My preferred genre is YA too and if they stopped publishing it i probably wouldn't stop reading, but i would read a lot less and write a lot more, even if it was just for myself. I'm admin over at peaceloveyalit.blogspot.com. I'd love for you to come visit when you get a chance!

Hey there cupcake! You look lovely today and I can tell you're thinking very smarticle thinky thoughts....so go ahead and post 'em!

After much thought and only recently being introduced to blog awards and blogger tagging, I'm going to have to declare this an award/tag free blog. I'm honored, humbled, and so very grateful for simply being considered for an award, but I simply do not have the time to return the favor. If I could, I'd award y'all with dozens of yummy cupcakes ;) Thanks for understanding.
